*updated 11/2/21, their was a typo on point 3, the date was meant to say December 31st not December 21st.

The IUE-CWA GE Conference Board Negotiating Committee met with GE management in an effort to enhance the original tentative agreement. Although the Company did not accept all of our proposed improvements, we are pleased to announce we were able to achieve significant movement in three key areas: healthcare costs; general wage increases; and the reinstatement of cost-of-living- increases (COLA’s).

STATEMENT OF IUE-CWA CONFERENCE BOARD

Brothers and Sisters,

The IUE-CWA GE Conference Board negotiating committee met with GE negotiators today to discuss the key issues in the 2019 negotiations and gave the Company their proposals. IUE-CWA union leaders from Lynn, Schenectady, Strothers, Madisonville, Salem, Bucyrus and Service Centers discussed specific issues affecting members at those sites. The day concluded with GE caucusing to discuss the Union proposals. Negotiations will resume tomorrow morning.

IUE-CWA GE Members:

We have heard from our members; many are anxious for the future, but remain committed to achieving a fair contract. The IUE-CWA represents more GE workers than any other union. Our number one priority has always been, and continues to be, to bargain the best possible contract for our members.

From GE Workers United Facebook:

We have been in talks with GE concerning dates to return to the bargaining table. We were able to secure August the 12th as our starting date. The end date was not discussed, obviously, and will depend on GE’s willingness to address the members’ concerns. We will give a daily update—we will not wait until negotiations are over to give daily updates on our efforts to secure the best contract for our members that we can.

Brothers and Sisters,                                                                                                                      7/23/2019

Lynn Votes NO!  Tentative Agreement Rejected!

Members of Local 201 in Lynn, MA and Local 301 in Schenectady, NY voted to REJECT the Tentative Agreement between the IUE and the General Electric Company yesterday.  We are awaiting communication from IUE-CWA for more details, including the final tally from all IUE-CWA GE sites.  For now, report to work as usual and prepare for a strike.  Neither side has served a termination letter, meaning we are still working under our National Agreement per the contract:
