Avis Budget Management Must Stop Performing Work of Laid Off Employees

The Situation:  

1. Management is performing and subcontracting BU work while members are out on the street.

At the September 15 2020 membership meeting we will be voting on proposed changes to the IUE- CWA AFL-CIO Local 201 Constitution.  Over the past year we have gone through our constitution and made small proposed updates regarding “typo’s” and some of what we feel is “outdated language”. Not everything was addressed during this update. The Constitution Committee met several times, they reviewed the proposed changes and voted to recommend them to the membership. During the time that we were doing the update the Local also received two petitions that involved changes to the Constitution.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As trade unionists and as Americans, we were all outraged by the vicious murder of George Floyd.  We are heartened by the uprising of hundreds of thousands of Americans, Black, Brown and white, demanding an end to racism and declaring: “Black Lives Matter.”

Because of Covid-19, it has been difficult for many of us to show our solidarity with this movement. 

Support Covid-19 Protections for manufacturing & factory workers

Rep. Pete Capano is sponsoring legislation to protect workers and we need to help to get it passed.
